There is talk of a Saturday freeride group heading out.

If this comes about you will be advised accordingly. We just need a leader for that group. There is a Saturday road rides, at 10:00a/m.

The road rides lead from different areas of the coast.

They are generally 3 or more hours at a steady pace.

This is a long steady distance ride for the race team. You are welcome to join us but. … if you can’t keep up you will be dropped. No shame in that, you can always grab a wheel as the leaders return to our point of origin.

Contact Bob Stanhope at jstanhope@dccnet.com if you want on the Saturday road ride list.

There is talk of a ladies Sunday ride. Again, details are being finalized as we look for an appropriate leader.

We are offering a Sunday mountain bike ride.  Again, this will be a 3 hour or more ride at a steady pace. This is a core race team ride but again you are welcome to join us if you feel you can keep up.

We are offering youth/family beginner/intermediate rides on Monday evenings from 6 to 8:30pm. The first ride will take place Monday May 3rd 2010. We will meet at Halfmoon Bay Community School to do a bike check and discuss the summer program. We will then divide into groups based on ability and get in a short ride. Following the initial ride the groups will ride separately. The beginner group will generally ride from Halfmoon Bay enjoying the local trails. The intermediate group will move around the Sunshine Coast enjoying some different trails.  Every 3 weeks or so we will group up at a different spot so that those in the beginner group can have an opportunity to try out the intermediate group and see if they are ready for it.

The ladies are still riding from Connor Park at 12:45 pm. There are a few males attending that ride now. This is a great entry level ride for socializing and just getting comfortable and gaining confidence on your bike.

TUESDAY EVENINGS. The club will alternate a Time Trial, Hill Climb and Dirt Crit. Schedule and details to follow.

Gravity nights. There will be a $5 drop in fee mandatory per rider to pay for gas, Full face helmets mandatory and protective gear highly recommended. Talk to Gary at the shop for details.

The locations will probably change as the name suggests, this will be a downhill specific with some shuttling involved. Details to follow.

As for Thursday and Friday we have nothing formal planned. (At least not yet).
